It’s been one year since I started this blog. So it seems right to end it today. This year has been a crazy one for me. I discovered things on the internet I knew where there, but did not know or understand how they end up connecting themselves. Entangling people in a true web of webs. I’ve said all I am going to say about those things here. As some of you know I continue to blog about the different things this year has led me to on the internet. I started this blog with a disclaimer that explained I would not be sleuthing any case, or trying to solve any murders. This blog was about the people I read commenting on a site called Longislandserialkiller.com and I have blogged more than enough about them. I’d like to end this blog on the subject I have stayed away from, the bodies found at and around Oak Beach.
We know a lot about some of them and nothing about others. We know that most of them were what they call Craigslist prostitutes or call girl or what ever name you want to give it. We know that some had hard lives from early on and that some were taken advantage of by those around them. We know that some of them had drug addictions or money problems. We know some of their names:
Maureen Brainard-Barnes
Melissa Barthelemy
Shannan Gilbert
Megan Waterman
Amber Overstreet
And thanks to their loved ones we know how beautiful each one was, how generous and caring they were. We know some had children they loved. We know they had dreams of bettering their lives. We know some were artistic, some wrote lyrics and poetry. They were daughters, sisters, mothers, friends… they were all this and a lot more. More than anything anyone can know or say about them. Because of the things we don’t know, and that is what they would have done, what they would have achieved, what they would have become. Their lives were cut short and their story not properly ended. I know that most out there feel as I do, and our hopes and prayers are that at the very least the case will be solved giving the families of the victims answers and everyone piece of mind that those responsible will not be able to continue. It is not the end they deserve but it is an end, and one is needed here.

Thank you for this, Zero. This is truly a beautiful post and I feel that you have honored Maureen, Amber, Melissa, Shannan, and Megan. I hope that you will keep on writing, even if it is not about this case. I don’t comment much but I do read your work as often as I can.

thank you, unfortunately there are still others out there who don’t want the games to stop. So i guess I’m not either. This blog is over, and I did try to end it with respect to the victims and those who have been brought into the agendas and games… but for those who want to continue threatening me and trying to discredit me, continueing to believe lies and games, well, I guess I’m just getting started agian.

Nicely written. Thanks for honoring the victims. They were not “hookers” as so many in media refer to them. They were mothers, daughters, sisters, friends… They deserve justice.

Every time I look at this suspect that has been cleared something else links him to the victims or profile ive been accused a few times of things I did not do hard for me to point finger at anyone especially for a heinous crime this is my second night of researching this case heres all evidence ive looked at first suspect looks like creep second he dosent want to talk to reporter seems evasive linked to one of the victims she was in his house making 911 calls saying they are trying to kill me killer probably drugs victims before he restrains them solicits providers off craigslist right there is enough evidence for him to be number one suspect how in the fuck did the police not rule the poor girls death a homicide something that happened in the house scared her he lives right fucking smack dab in the middle of killing fields has money lives in moms house recently divorced white middle aged unemployed techie trader manipulator work field is to look at trends make complex transactions and forecast trends hides behind computer anonymous seen moving things with uhaul truck middle of night familiar with area has woman issues how is he not a prime suspect its early in my investigation how is he cleared by cops wtf police say hes not a suspect someone please tell me how he is clear

this guy had victim in his house lives in kill zone gets providers off craigslist fits police profile if he has good alibi id like to hear it please I also like theory on vacationer or seasonal worker or park ranger although very unlikely connected to sex trade possibly multiple killers maybe a parole i always hear about people who get out of jail and kill someone within days or weeks of release maybe someone who grew up there visits family familiar with area multiple killers is somewhat plausible supposedly in the bay area there is a island in the delta I think its grizzly island park ranger caught a gang member drug dealer dumping body the ranger said something about it being a dumping ground for eastbay gang members or drug dealers if theres a difference I would also put a high probability theres more bodies to be found and with the victims we might find a vital clue who they were last seen with a phone record cctv photos a passerby having a flashback of something out of the ordinary most killers want attention or leave a calling card or take a trophy maybe the killer frequents the area drives by his kill zone or something like that has been suggested by someone else all very good leads are being discussed i think average citizens have more leads then the police i still cant believe the one asshole has been cleared hope police have a traffic camera watching every road on the coastline

There is a whole group of them that seem suspicious… but yes, Brewer does seem to lead to a lot of unanswered questions, and the guy is very creepy… (so I’m told and gather from what I’ve read as well) in fact recently someone came to me with an old story pointing a finger at Brewer. Actually, a few people have some things to say about brewer lately, and i get it, the guy seems like he is hiding things and Shannan ran from HIS house. But it all leads back into circles, coincedences, and connections. It feels like the answer is right there in front of everyone and that is one of the reasons so many of us get frustrated with it and are so saddened by no real answers or closure. Imagine how it is for all the families and friends. Add in all the crazies who have turned it into their own tragedy… frustrating as sad.

the manorville carpenter john bittrolff is a most likely suspect he seems to have been active during the time period? Hes in jail for killing two or three women and one of the ladies rita tangredi was best friends with melissa barthelemy melissia was found at gilgo beach and rita was one of the manorville carpenters first victims thats a very strong link please someones thoughts and input into this suspect or other information on this suspect please greatly appreciated he has taken over for number one suspect he is most likely the killer responsible for the gilgo beach victims why have police not declared him most likely suspect

I want this to be known publicly… and outside my circle of people and the SCPD.
I am a local semi-professional musician from Long Island and I consider this place as disgusting, corrupt and in the shadow of a great place to live… my home.
The Ocean parkway has served and still does as my reference point for my mixed pieces of music. My music is moody, dark and atmospheric and in a VERY congested place that parkway and area of the Island at night ALWAYS has served as desolate place to reflect especially listening back to mixes and seeing if its hits the right way without being effect by strip malls, traffic lights and zombies on all major parkways.
If there are any other mixing engineers or musicians who create on a professional level, you will 100% understand what I mean when I talk about referencing mixes and making sure you got it right.
In June of 2010 (look at that date) and was doing my usual ride… it was usually between midnight and 3am. I live in East Meadow so I take the Wantagh out and hit the loop – ocean route. I can get out there quick at that hour but usually go about 50mph to let the music sink in and relax.
At this time in my life I was single (23 years old) and was working heavily on my first major record. The mix references drives on this record cycle went on for the better half of 2010 but this was the only time I saw anything out there that was really suspicious at night.
I will describe it in great detail again, luckily I was blessed with photographic memory so I can recall instantly and in depth. So much so that I wrote it in poetic terms in depth description // this is what I gave the SCPD in 2012 as well // Specifically JAMES BURKE // Here you go:
“2AM and pitch dark, a 70s Club Wagon with safety-flares on desolate roadway. Heavily clothed for summer time, a scarf covering your face, I slow down to see if you need help. No one was around only the sounds of the waves crashing in the distance, your van hazards flashing away and a sound monitoring system on the ground nearby. As I fully stop you vanish out of site as if to hide from my oncoming vehicle. Stopped for only a few seconds, I sense an eerie vibe and continue my way onto the Robert Moses causeway. Years later and I still feel as if I almost caught you dumping their bodies along this parkway. My mix reference drives have never been the same, maybe one day I will catch you again by the Oak Beach Inn.”
You need to understand that I thought NOTHING of this in JUNE 2010… Besides the news blurt of Shannon disappearing I just knew this area to be where rich LI’ers and boat community retirees had summer houses. When the initial discovery was made and bodies were made I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it and still thought nothing of it as if it were nothing. Where it all hit me that I had to do something was the flashback… In 2012 I had a child and when browsing for a baby monitor in the store I SAW THE MONITOR THAT WAS ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE VECHILE THAT NIGHT. A more industrial styled one but think of why it would be on the floor by their car on the side of the road… They were in the marsh with the receiver where they could anything coming from a far with monitor system by the roadway to alert them. It was almost a pro-styled one and maybe even one police or military could only acquire but it struck and extreme resemblance to the high-end industrial style looking one when we were shopping.
At this point I realized I needed to come forward and at least share my little piece of something I saw before any discoveries were made. So I called a defunct hotline number for the case because at that point it was kind of forgotten about and a week later I got a call. It was JAMES BURKE, I had again NO CLUE who this man was. He stated who he was and that he DID NOT WANT ME TO COME DOWN TO THE STATION BUT WANTED ME TO MEET HIM ON SITE OF THE GENERAL LOCATION OF WHERE I SAW THE CAR THOSE SOME TWO YEARS PRIOR. I thought this was kind of odd to get my initial statement… no? Or at least come to my house and then we drive or more investigators. Burke came ALONE, yes alone… which from my experience was also rare in police investigations or questions that I have personally encountered.
I do need to stress that I look counter culture… somewhere between a metal head crossed with a hippie… I am naturally eccentric and you will see why I am mentioning this.
So I give him in depth info, the description even show him the poem I printed out and we go in depth… and I am as honest as I can be. He asked me what I was doing out that hour and why, people in music and professionally will understand what I me by mix referencing and this to him was a ‘what the fuck’. Anyway, he seems to just be jotting things down on paper no tape recording device or anything.
The point where it seemed very odd in my discussion him was right here though… I mentioned I am a marijuana smoker and although I wasn’t doing it in the car it wasn’t uncommon for me to be working in the studio for a couple of hours prior when I hit something and decide to go reference. I would usually be smoking those hours prior… I am not a drug user, marijuana is a sacred plant. Aside from that and a bunch of psychedelic exploring in my late teens early 20s it all ends there. He went off with that!
“Are you see you weren’t seeing things? How do you know what you really saw? You were under the influence of marijuana?” As if it was some Devil’s Harvest 50’s anti- weed propaganda film talking. It was bizarre but after seeing the recent events of him and reading all his corruption seemed as his out to discredit anything from me.
I kind of laughed in his face and he asked me a few more questions but like stand offish and completely changed his act… yes he was acting from the start.
Did the usual line “Well be in touch if we here anything or leads, thanks for meeting with me Mr. _____”
I WAS NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN AND I ASSURE HE NEVER SUBMITTED ANYTHING I SAID INTO EVIDENCE OR CASE FILES AND THAT MY MEETING WAS PROBABLY NEVER RECORDED.
Honestly feel like this whole thing is something out of the show ‘True Detective’ actually even more bizarre the more I read in depth outside of news sources.
VICE just did the most comprehensive and collective piece that fucks with your head to and made me go ‘man wtf are you doing? think of what you might be able to help solve?”
I know realize after a lot of studying that I should probably go to the FBI at this point for my protection with the people involved and maybe contact John Ray.

Also, I would like to add proof that this was ROUTINE for me and provide basis behind it… even legally.
Often more than not I would park my car on the side of the parkway close to Jones Beach theatre. For any LI history buffs you know that on the opposite side of Tobay Beach is a nautilus inspired old boat dock/concession structure that has been decaying for decades now. It is quite remarkable and its ruins are beautiful. At night the walk along the bay to it and hanging out on it was always amazing and very inspiring. Smoking a joint on the way and relax in complete darkness was something I do miss but that part of my life is behind me.
Anyway, on such trip at odd hours at night only once did I receive a ticket from having my car parked on the side of the road. It was in May of 2010… As per my post above I need to make this clear that I would do these drives 3-5 times a week between March-October of 2010.

I just found your website.. I know it’s been a few years since your last post but I was just thinking of this case yesterday, went to wiki and noticed Shannon Gilbert’s younger sister (a schizophrenic) murdered her mother just a few days ago… Starting to wonder if anyone will continue pursuing this case now.. I really have no idea why the FBI has not been involved or how the heck with the SEVENTEEN bodiea recovered, they have no dna evidence, nada… Something is very fishy about the situation. Have you been over to Gilgo beach yourself?

I am shocked and saddened by the news of Mari’s death. I have been wondering the same as you, but I hope that there will be others to keep demanding answers to what happened to Shannan.

im hoping the recent events in the Gilbert family don’t add credibility for brewer or pak,or whoever. if someone in the case were to say,see I told you Shannon was crazy that nite. Brewer swears up + down that he is innocent. one good thing,hopefully the case comes back into the spotlight.
