A Year Later

It’s been one year since I started this blog. So it seems right to end it today. This year has been a crazy one for me. I discovered things on the internet I knew where there, but did not know or understand how they end up connecting themselves. Entangling people in a true web of webs. I’ve said all I am going to say about those things here. As some of you know I continue to blog about the different things this year has led me to on the internet. And I’m only getting started there: http://zerodinh.wordpress.com/

I started this blog with a disclaimer that explained I would not be sleuthing any case, or trying to solve any murders. This blog was about the people I read commenting on a site called Longislandserialkiller.com and I have blogged more than enough about them. I’d like to end this blog on the subject I have stayed away from, the bodies found at and around Oak Beach.

We know a lot about some of them and nothing about others. We know that most of them were what they call Craigslist prostitutes or call girl or what ever name you want to give it. We know that some had hard lives from early on and that some were taken advantage of by those around them. We know that some of them had drug addictions or money problems. We know some of their names:

Maureen Brainard-Barnes

Melissa Barthelemy

Shannan Gilbert

Megan Waterman

Amber Overstreet

And thanks to their loved ones we know how beautiful each one was, how generous and caring they were. We know some had children they loved. We know they had dreams of bettering their lives.  We know some were artistic, some wrote lyrics and poetry. They were daughters, sisters, mothers, friends… they were all this and a lot more. More than anything anyone can know or say about them. Because of the things we don’t know, and that is what they would have done, what they would have achieved, what they would have become. Their lives were cut short and their story not properly ended. I know that most out there feel as I do, and our hopes and prayers are that at the very least the case will be solved giving the families of the victims answers and everyone piece of mind that those responsible will not be able to continue. It is not the end they deserve but it is an end, and one is needed here.

My Opinion

As this blog comes to an end, what are we left with? Basically just my opinion on some people who went from sleuthing to slandering. At times that opinion has changed. And even though I got lots of info from articles and people’s emails and comments, it still just boils down to “My Opinion”. Half the stuff people told me, others said just the opposite, so I had to decide what to believe and what not to belive. Some may value my opinion on some of this, some may not, but for what ever reason you came here to read my opinion and I gave it.

Like I said, it changed a little at times, but when I go back and reread what I have written I think most of it holds true to the same basic belief. What is that belief? That several people were involved in some sort of game with the LISK case. That some of them did it to gain some kind of attention in the limelight. Others played back, some with good intentions, some probably not so good. At the core of some of these people is a feeling that they were wronged in life, Joey, by his neighbors who tried to out him and his family from the Oak Beach community, Nancy and Dorothy, by their ex husbands and the legal system, you get the idea. So they used this tragedy to get even and to get noticed.

Again, this is just my opinion after looking into all of you over the past year, just like some of you have looked into me and formed opinions as well. Which is fine, and if anyone cares to hear about your opinions on me, by all means tell them. Hell, write a blog about it. But remember, I wrote this blog because I felt it was wrong for people to use this tragedy for their own agendas and games, and I think most who read here would agree with that.

I have said over and over that it was not my intention to sleuth the case, but my opinions on the case can still be seen throughout this blog. Again though, just opinions. I’m not LE. I do not have the info that they have. I don’t even have the info most of you have.

Still I did not just jump in line with anything anyone was throwing out there or trying to lead me to along the way. I just kept reading and well, writing. This made some of you not like me to much at certain times (like if I didn’t agree with the proper agenda) and other times I was a hero! Truth is I was just giving my opinion on what I witnessed. On what I read. On what I saw. On what I thought.

I wish I could just post every email correspondence I have with everyone, it would then be a lot easier to not only understand my opinion, but maybe see how I came to some of it. But that just isn’t possible. I understand why some would not want me to post their emails or bring their names into this. Some are just LISK.com readers… others, well you know who you are and what we have talked about and most of you have told me  a lot of my opinions are spot on. Would I love to post those emails? Of course I would, and since some of you love saying I put all my emails up on the blog, I sometimes think I should.

Don’t get nervous, I’m not doing it. But again, those I have talked to know what we have talked about.

There is still plenty of other things I can post here, to show why I have the opinions I do about all of this. Some of this stuff you may have already seen or read, most of it was given to me by one of you, the readers and the subjects of this blog. Pretty much the same demographics, right?

Let’s start with the newest link I was given. It’s the YouTube interviews with Richard Dormer. There are quite a few of them but I think they are worth watching. For those who strongly criticized LE as either dropping the ball on this case or covering things up, this may help show, as I believe, that LE is and has always taken this case very seriously and there for have looked into every lead and everyone possibly connected to this case. Or it may not change your view at all, but I still recommend watching all of them:

I just watched these yesterday, and there is stuff in here I wouldn’t mind discussing, pros and cons, so if anyone else who has watched them feels the same, let me know in the comments.

Of course most of what I wrote about took place on Longislandserialkiller.com. Here’s a couple threads to start with, but you can look around to see what you can find there. Since the site is down I could not find every post, but a lot is still there:

Here’s some things to watch and read if you have not yet:

And then there are the things I was sent or found because of leading comments on my blogs, I think most who read here understand how some of these screen names involved in this over the years love to post stuff to lead you places. Is any of it connected? Maybe. But again I’m sure LE looks into any connections brought up at this point. So I’m not about to make guesses on things I could not possibly know. Sorry if this list of links is long or mixed up. I have a lot of these and I’m not gonna post links to all of them, but here’s a taste:

There is actually a lot more, but I think we’ll stop there. The last three links are suicides that I know some find questionable or possibly linked to the Gilgo Beach Murders. Again I have no information on things like this and can only read them and wonder myself.

Same goes for possible connection to other places like Atlantic City, Florida or New Mexico. Florida pops up again and again in things I have read. Some I have mentioned in this blog. Victims in the LISK case, bloggers, writers, POIs, etc. There are quite a few linked to all of this who live or have lived in Florida, but I have found nothing that actually connects Florida in any way but coincidence. But who knows? Until truth is known and the case is solved all possibilities are just that, possibilities. Another possibilty is a conection to the Atlantic City Murders. I didn’t know anything about the Atlantic City Murders tell I read about the Facebook pages that were made and seemed to connect them to the Gilgo Beach victims. Since then I have read quite a bit about the murders in Atlantic City, and until both cases are solved I guess it will continue to be, as many believe, possibly connected.

And what about New Mexico?

There is so much out there so of course people will have opinions about what is connected and what isn’t.  I get that. We all get that, right? But what got me blogging my opinions, was that some people out there claimed to be working on more than opinion. Those of you who claim to know things, who write as if they are the victims and the heroes all in one, here is my final opinion for you. Your so-called knowledge should be questioned by everyone. The real connections are between those who passed around misinformation and played games with other people’s tragedies. And I think you know who those people are, in my opinion.

Websleuths

Websleuths is another part of this I have not mentioned much. This is because I never read there. That has changed and I recently started reading there. So far I have not found any LISK threads and have just been looking around getting a feel for the site. It seems like a good site and is run by people who do there best to keep games and agendas out of it. From what I was told and have read, just as much of this started there as it did on LISK.com but the site removed users and changed it’s set up to try to keep things on the up and up with out sock-puppet screen names and misinfo leaning towards agenda. Again, from what I’m told and have read about it. As I have said many times and one more time, I did not read or comment there.

Now that I am reading there I still don’t think I will be blogging about it since this blog is now 2 posts away from being done, plus I don’t think they like stuff being shared due to all those things the site fought hard to stop from happening.  So I heard and read. I have no intentions of breaking any rules there or bringing any of the gamey stuff back there. I just want to check it out and hopefully learn. Though I don’t think what I’ve done is sleuthing, most of the stuff I looked into was about others who were sleuthing, but I did study many different aspects of the LISK case and read many others insights and opinions. And I have formed opinions of my own. And that is what sleuthing is right, studying a case and forming an opinion about it then writing that opinion? Sort of at least? So maybe I have sleuthed the case a little. I have definitely stated my opinions.

I like the site so far and hope to get new insights on this case and others there. If you are a reader here and you see me there feel free to send me a message. I’m there to learn.

Joseph Brewer & Michael Pak

When I first came to read at LISK.com and Catching LISK, I like many others had known about three people mentioned that seemed to be POIs in the LISK case. The doctor, the driver, and the john. 48 Hours and other articles on the case told you all about these three men.  All three seemed suspicious, but LE had cleared each from being a suspect. I’m not gonna even try to speak for them. But it’s safe to say that many still have questions about these three men.  My blog and other’s mention the doctor quite a bit. I have not talked much about the other two men though. Until now.

What some don’t realize is that these three men fit into “what happened to Shannan conspiracies” but I’m not sure how much they fit with the others who were found. Especially Mike the driver. If there was any connection to the other’s I would think it would have been discovered long ago and he would have been seen as a suspect. My opinion of course, but he was involved in sex trafficking plain and simple, and if LE thought pressuring him would get some names of people involved they would and, again my opinion, Mike would have given up anyone and anything he knew. So I’m guessing no connection was made. Let’s not forget he was a driver, if there was anything connecting him to others missing or killed we’d know by now, my opinion again. So I never felt much reason to bring up the driver, again, I’m not trying to speak for LE and have no idea what they know or don’t know about the driver, just that I believe if there was anything to link him they would jump on it.

I felt the same about Joseph Brewer as well, but there are a couple of differences there. One, we have stories of parties that get out of control. Mainly from Flukeyou (but I doubt he can be trusted, his stories just seem to be that, stories, right?) but I have read the book “Confessions of the Oak Beach Drifter” and the parties are implied in there as well. Still, once again, if LE could connect Brewer to any of the others that were found near Oak Beach I would think they would have been all over him and that he would have sung like a bird, do I really have to keep saying this is all just my opinion?

Again, all three of these POI’s (can I call them that?) depends on what you think happened to Shannan.

If you believe that Shannan’s death was possibly a tragic accident, then if no connection is found between these three and anyone missing or found murdered then they most likely have nothing to do with any of this, well other than the john and the driver, their actions were partly responsible for what happened to Shannan no mater what, in my opinion.

If you believe Shannan’s death is connected to the GB4 then all of them once again take on suspicion. The thing is, once again, if LE could find connections between any of them and the GB4, I’m sure they would have pressured them and one of them would have snapped and come clean or spilled info on someone else. None of this seemed to happen because no arrests have been made. But again, LE, what they know, and how they are handling the case is not anything I know anything about and I am not speaking for them. I just have to believe they are doing everything they can to solve these cases.

So that leaves us with a third possibility (and the one I tend to believe): Shannan’s death was not an accident, but is still not connected to the GB4. When looking at everything, to me it seems there is more to be answered in Shannan’s death. And if that is true, then all three, the driver, the john,  and the doctor, once again come up into suspicion as does anyone else in that neighborhood that acts strangely about this case. But do we have conspiracy or coincidence?

I hope and believe these cases will be solved. If conspiracy is involved here, someone will slip and then spill on the others, in fact I think it already would have happened. Coincidence is a much harder thing to understand and work out. Especially when so many seem to be hiding or holding info back or at least pretending to. But I still think it will be worked out.

Out of the three of these men, it is Brewer I question the most, and that’s mainly because of what I read in Lost Girls. He goes on and on about what he knows that can break this case wide open, and yet won’t let you know what that is. This is something I have seen a lot in this case. Everyone’s got the answer, some know who the killer is for sure. Who’s got agenda and who’s just crazy is hard to tell apart. And a lot of you say you have gone to LE with your info, right? Why would anyone hold back info from LE if they thought it would help?

And yet years later and all these connections some of you have made, and still nothing that LE has been able to use.

In my opinion of course.

Lost Girls

As I wrote on my Zero’s World Blog: http://zerodinh.wordpress.com/2014/01/31/fake/

Last week I was taking some time off the internet and my blogs watching some TV, and an episode of 20/20 came on where one of the segments was about a man named Raymond Roth got me thinking about the LISK case (let’s face it though, now a days it is never far from the front of my mind). I decided I have spent so much time looking at the games and agendas that I needed to take another look at the case itself. I mean that was the reason I went looking for more info in the first place and led me to LISK.com and Catching LISK. I was interested in the case. I had the book “Lost Girls” by Robert Kolker, and decided it was way past the time I read it.

First I want to say that I enjoyed the book and the way it was written. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not read it yet. Before I started my blog I had known a little about the case, during the writing of this blog I learned a lot more, but after reading Lost Girls I feel I have a much more detailed understanding of everything surrounding this case.

Once I had started this blog, I had focused my attention on the people behind the screen names, Joey, Cristin, Jen, and Dorothy and some others, I tried not to get to deep into the actual case, so again although I knew a lot, reading the book showed me much more into the tragic lives of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Lynn Costello, and Shannan Gilbert. I learned more about their hardships, about their hopes and dreams, about the people around them, and the circumstances that led up to their disappearances. I have few things I would like to say about these 5 girls who were taken from their friends and families in such a devastating way, but I will save that for my final post. I will say this before moving on, Robert Kolker writes about the blame that seems to be passed around, the victims for their choice in professions, their families for not being able to stop them, their pimps and boyfriends for using them,  sites like Craigslist for allowing sex for sale type ads, LE for not reacting sooner, and on and on. As I belive the book points out, even laying the blame where it rightfully belongs, with the killer or killers, it does not ease the pain of family members, it does not help LE solve the case, and it does not make anyone feel any safer.  Laying blame to a senseless tragedy does not make it any less senseless.

The book also talked a little about what I called games and agendas in this blog mostly under the section titled “Conspiracy”. Here we learn about Joey being Flukeyou and how he believes so deeply in his neighbor being a killer that he can’t talk about anything else. We hear about Truthspider and how his sleuthing of the Doctor led him to believe he was a serial killer responsible for all of the bodies found on the shores of Long Island.  Though both have lots of reasons why they say the Doctor is guilty, most of it is nothing more than, “I think it could have happened this way”. I mean Joey has all sorts of ideas of how the bodies were stored and removed without being seen etc. But all this proves is that Joey has a good idea how it could have been done, no proof that the Doc did any of the things Joey talks about in the book.  Truthspider has a little more substance in his theories, like the book The Last Happy Hour by Charles J. Hackett. I remember when I first read about this on Catching LISK, I was floored! I mean here is a book by Dr. Hackett’s father where it describes taking his young son with him on trips to Atlantic City and had explained to his son about the  inability to convert “whores”. I haven’t read the book, but when I looked it up on Amazon I read a very good review on it. And now as I looked back for that review I realized that the review was by none other than Truthspider himself. LOL, funny how I missed that, but this was early on, before I even started blogging so I didn’t know about Truthspider and would have had no reason to recognize the name of the review author. But if you click on the book title above it will take you take you to the amazon site where you can read Mr. Murphy’s review of the book. I remember when I first read the review (not knowing it was by Truthspider) and also reading about how Mysterymom7 thought she was being stalked for her own beliefs that the Doc and I was like wow, this guy is a serial killer. Of course now I know there was agendas at work. Still I believe this book by the Doctor’s father is very peculiar and if more substantial evidence would surface on the doctor, the book might mean something. But so far that hasn’t seemed to happen. As Lost Girls points out, the conspiracies can be seen everywhere but when looking for substance none is found, and most of the echos of proof come back to Joey and his die-hard belief that his neighbors must be hiding something. Not much more than that. The thing I learned the most from the section titled “Conspiracy” was just how important my blog may be to others out there who read about this case and this book. Because the section titled ‘Conspiracy” stops short right where the real conspiracies begin. The book talks about Joey being Flukeyou and Brendan being Truthspider and how they took to the internet to try to prove their beliefs that the Doc was guilty, but it doesn’t go into the fact that they might have been working together at least at some point. Or how some wrote that Joey and Brendan might have known each other for a while. Or how a housewife from Florida would take both Joey’s and Brendan’s ideas and decide The Doctor was in deed guilty of killing many women over the years and not only post her theories claiming that she was 98% and sometimes 99% sure her theories were right, not only did she contact Mari’s lawyer with all this proof she said she was able to gather on the internet, but she created a blog where she claimed Dr. Hackett was now stalking her to try to keep her quiet. Of course my blog (with the help of many other’s who spoke with me and cleared many things up) showed that Joey used this blog to further his agenda as well. Lost Girls ends it’s story right before any of this part of the conspiracy started. It ends once all the bodies were found and that is when the internet games really got going. And since Longislandserialkiller.com and Catching LISK are both gone, my blog seems to be the only place to see how the conspiracy continued. Why is that important? I feel there are many reasons, not gonna go into them all because I have already defended this blog way to many times. But I’ll give what I feel is the main one.

In the book Lost Girls it discusses Joey and his theories. It mentions that he was right all along where Shannan would be found, but without my blog you might not be able to see ALL the things Joey wrote under the screen name Flukeyou. Like how he accused many of his neighbors of being at a party at Brewers house the night Shannan disappeared. This led to the now infamous fake “Fieldnotes Interview” and equally fake “Brewer Party Guest List”.  Didn’t Joey actually write that some of these neighbors accepted sexual favors from Shannan that night? Flukeyou/Joey wrote all sorts of things, most I think can be proven wrong. So it is my belief that everything written by Joey on Lisk.com and catching LISK and all the things he is telling people, needs to be looked at, which parts can be proven wrong, which parts are right, and which parts are impossible to be proven or he has no way of possibly knowing. In these 3 things a pattern might develop. The parts that can be proven wrong should be able to shine some light on a few things. And once that is done, the parts that are in the impossible of proving or him having no way of knowing suddenly popped into the proven right possibilities should speak volumes.

For those who don’t follow me let me end this post with a very crystal clear example.

Timeline helps me the most with understanding some of this. Knowing when somethings hit the media or when other things were found can shine a lot on some of the comments and posts I read. Some of them correspond in a way that explains the comment better, or at least the timing of it. Others only make you wonder. Like in the comments Flukeyou left on LISK.com  in August of 2011, about how things could be found or were already found in neighbors back house. Remember this is months before Shannan’s belongings are found. This comment alone suggest something was already found long before any reports of items being found:

flukeyou

How does Joey know the things he knows? Is he just making up so many things, that some of them are bound to be right? Or does he use things he knows and mixes them with things that are lies to frame his neighbors? Look through my blog, read for yourself all the things that Joey has written under the screen name Flukeyou (and a few others). See the different games he was wrapped up in. See the people who are connected to his agenda but weren’t mentioned in Lost Girls (although I think Dorothy actually did get a mention at the bottom of page 226)  Maybe you’ll see what others have come to see after years of his meddling in this case. That there are reasons to take a closer look at Joey Scalice Jr aka Flukeyou.
